Tips for Success:

  • Personalize: Use the lead’s name and make sure the message feels personal.
  • Be Timely: If you're offering promotions or discounts, emphasize deadlines to create urgency.
  • Keep It Short & Sweet: People often appreciate short, clear messages that get straight to the point.
  • Be Friendly & Approachable: The tone should feel like a helpful nudge rather than a hard sell.

Who should you text message?

  • New Leads: Message them promptly after receiving their contact information.
  • Old Leads: Even if they didn't convert in the past, it’s important to follow up periodically. Timing can make a difference.
  • Leads with Good Potential: Leads who may have had bad timing previously but could be interested now with the right offer.

How often should you text message a lead?

  1. Within 5 minutes of receiving the lead: The sooner, the better. A quick follow-up shows attentiveness and enthusiasm.
  2. Next day follow-up: If you don't reach them on the first attempt, try again the next day to ensure you're on their radar.
  3. Once or twice in the following week: Be persistent, but don’t bombard them. Aim for 2-3 attempts to follow up and re-engage them.
  4. Once every other week: Stay in touch consistently but without overwhelming them. A gentle nudge might be all it takes.
  5. Once a month: Monthly check-ins keep your brand on their mind.
  6. Once every quarter or during major holidays: Re-filter leads during peak times (holidays, end of the season, etc.). People are more likely to revisit their needs during these times.

Key Points:

  • Don’t be afraid to reach out again: Lead timing is everything. A lead that didn't convert initially might be more open now.
  • Spacing out communication: It's important to not overwhelm leads. Space out messages at logical intervals to stay relevant without annoying them.
