JellyFish Lighting — User Guide (Quick Reference)

Summary of the full PDF user guide (download available).

Quick start — Connect your phone to the Pro2 Controller

  • Open Wi-Fi connections on your smart device.
  • Search available networks for JellyFish-XXXX.
  • Connect using password bigfish10.

JellyFish Designer Cloud App — Install & Setup

  • Search and install JellyFish Designer Cloud from your app store.
  • Create an account (email + password), verify by code emailed to you, then log in.
  • In the app: Add a New Controller & WiFi Setup — choose your local 2.4 GHz network and enter its password.
  • Wi-Fi setup can take a minute or two. Successful connection shows the correct date/time and a status marker (e.g. (*9) indicates strong connection).
  • If connection status reads (*0)(*7) you may need a Wi-Fi extender or a wired connection to the router/switch.

Create Patterns

  • Open the Pattern tab and tap + to create a pattern.
  • Use Preview Zones to view your pattern on a zone.
  • Choose Animation, pick Colors (use + / – to add/remove), and apply Effects (twinkle, lightning, etc.).
  • Save the pattern, give it a name and category, then Save.

Zone Setup

  • In Settings → Controllers → Zones for that controller: by default all lights are in one zone.
  • Swipe right on a zone to delete it, or press + to add a new zone and name it.
  • New zone opens with default lights 1–50 on Port 1; click the port to change the number of lights (span) for that zone.
  • First and last light of a selected span show the same color; lights between default to white until saved as a zone.
  • You can add additional spans (same or different ports) to the same zone. Each span can have motion direction or be reversed; save the zone when finished.

Zone Control & Accents

  • Zone Control: select a zone and press play to play a pattern.
  • Create Accents: select zone(s), pick an accent color, click LED numbers to choose which lights are on, and set a background color for unselected lights.

Schedules — Daily Events

  • Go to Schedule tab → press + → Create Daily.
  • Set pattern, zone(s), days of the week, and time. Use the pencil icon to edit timers.
  • You can set a separate off time for daily events.

Schedules — Calendar Events

  • Calendar events override daily timers.
  • In Schedule tab → press + → Create Calendar. Configure pattern, zone, specific days of the year and time.
  • Use pencil icon to edit calendar events.

Update Controller Firmware

  • Open the JellyFish Designer Cloud App → Settings → General → Update Controller Firmware.
  • If an update is available it will show; select the controller and press Start Update. The update can take up to ~5 minutes.
  • If it shows “No Update Needed” you do not need to click “Force Update”.

Using JellyFish Lights from the Pro2 Controller

  • Press the Power button to turn lights on. Top display shows Programs and a program number.
  • Change program with Left / Right arrows. Press OK to toggle the bottom display between Speed and Brightness.
  • Use Up / Down arrows to change speed or brightness. Press Menu to change between Programs and Colors.
  • When in Colors mode, Left/Right changes color, and the bottom line displays RGB percentages (e.g., R000 G000 B000).
  • Short-press Power to pause a running program. Press-and-hold Power (4 seconds) to turn lights off (the fan will stop ~1s after lights turn off).
  • Turning lights back on restores the last program or color used.

Connect the Controller to a New Router

  1. Reset the controller Wi-Fi: press & release MENU to wake the screen; then hold MENU for 10 seconds until you see the Service Menu.
  2. Arrow down three times to WIFI, press OK when it says Setup WiFi. Wait ~1 minute — if the top-right asterisk disappears the Wi-Fi was reset.
  3. Reconfigure Wi-Fi via the JellyFish Cloud app: in app Settings → Controller WiFi. In your phone settings connect to JellyFish-xxxx (password: bigfish10), then return to the Cloud app and proceed.
  4. Configuring Wi-Fi can take ~5 minutes. Connection indicators: * and a numeric strength where 9 = perfect, 8 = slightly less, etc. A strength ≥5 is acceptable.

Reset Account Password

If you forget your password:

  • Tap Forgot password on the JellyFish Designer Cloud app login page. A reset link will be sent to your account email.

Smart Home Setup (Alexa, Google Home)

  • In the app go to Settings → Smart Home Setup.
  • Enable Google Home or Alexa to pair accounts initially.
  • Create "automation lights" in the app (for example: turn on a security lighting pattern when a person is detected), then complete the automation inside Alexa/Google Home.
